Cooperative program between the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and German Colleges

To broaden students’ international visions and cultivate high-quality technical skills-oriented talents adaptable to the demands of “Made in China 2025”, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has formally signed a cooperative agreement with Handwerkskammer für Oberfranken (HWK) and DB University of Engineering & Technology in Germany to launch their cooperative student training program.

Program I: “2+1” technician certificate program

After two years of study in Shanghai Donghai Vocational & Technical College, students who have taken and passed the German examination can apply for nine months of practical training and education in HWK. Students passing all the examinations can respectively obtain worldwide-recognized certificates of automotive technician, CNC technician, electromechanical technician, etc., as well as an Associate Degree of Shanghai Donghai Vocational & Technical College.

HWK issues certificates with extremely high “gold content” worldwide, and may be rated as the “Nobel” of the world’s manufacturing industry.

Program II: educational background upgrading program

After obtaining technician certificates issued by HWK, students can apply for entry into DB University of Engineering & Technology for further study; after completing their undergraduate program and obtaining their Bachelor’s Degree, they can apply for studying for a Master’s Degree. DB University of Engineering & Technology is a college of applied arts and technology, located in Bayern and founded in 1994.

Program III: Short-term learning and practice program

Students are also organized during their summer vacation to participate in three weeks of learning and practice in HWK in Germany, so that they can personally experience the most competitive manufacturing industry of Germany in the world, its “dual-system” vocational education model and its integrated teaching pattern and teaching methods, increase their professional knowledge and strengthen their occupational quality.
